What's NOT Included (Separate Costs)

Medication Cost at Pharmacy

The buprenorphine medication itself is purchased at a pharmacy. This is separate from SuboxoneNYC practice fees. The cost depends on:

  • Dose: Higher doses cost more (typically $0.50-2.00 per day)
  • Formulation: Brand-name Suboxone costs more than generic buprenorphine
  • Your insurance: If you have pharmacy insurance, you pay copay/coinsurance (typically $10-50/month). If uninsured, you pay cash price ($50-150/month depending on dose)
  • Discount programs: GoodRx, SingleCare, and other discount programs may reduce costs

Why SuboxoneNYC Can Be More Affordable

  • No insurance overhead: We don't spend time fighting with insurers, paying for prior auth appeals, or dealing with denials.
  • Fixed pricing: $100/month is transparent. No surprise bills arriving months later.
  • No insurance denials: You're never denied treatment because your insurance plan changed or they decided to deny buprenorphine.
  • No employment dependence: Job loss doesn't mean lost insurance and lost treatment access.
  • No network restrictions: You choose any pharmacy. You're not limited to insurance network pharmacies.
  • Medication costs separate: Your pharmacy insurance (if you have it) covers medication. Practice fees are what you pay us for physician care.

FSA and HSA

Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts

SuboxoneNYC practice fees are eligible for FSA and HSA payment. If you have either account, you can use pre-tax dollars for your $100/month practice fee. This can provide additional savings (typically 20-30% depending on your tax bracket).

Note: This applies to our practice fees only. Medication costs at the pharmacy may or may not be FSA/HSA-eligible depending on the pharmacy and your plan.

Common Cost Questions

Is $100/month more or less than my current insurance copays?

Depends on your plan. If you have insurance with a $30-50 monthly copay, SuboxoneNYC's $100/month might be similar or slightly higher—but you avoid prior auth delays, denials, and insurance changes. If your copay is higher, SuboxoneNYC is likely cheaper.

Do you offer payment plans or sliding scale fees?

Our standard pricing is $100/month or $1,000/year. We don't offer sliding scale or payment plans at this time. The $500 initial deposit is non-refundable. If cost is a barrier, discuss with us during intake.

Can I switch from monthly to annual pricing mid-year?

Yes. You can switch to annual pricing anytime. We'll prorate the difference and apply any monthly payments toward your annual fee.

What if I can't afford medication at the pharmacy?

Discuss this with your pharmacy. Many pharmacies offer discount programs (GoodRx, SingleCare, etc.). We can also help you explore generic vs. brand-name options to reduce cost. If you get insurance later, pharmacy insurance may cover medication costs.

Is the $500 deposit refundable if I don't get accepted?

No. The $500 deposit is non-refundable. It covers intake, onboarding, and physician review. It does not guarantee prescription or program acceptance, but it's applied to these costs regardless of outcome.

What if I miss a month—do I get pro-rated?

Monthly fees are billed monthly. If you pause or stop treatment, we can discuss your options. Contact us to discuss your situation.

Are there costs for additional appointments or urgent visits?

No. All physician appointments are covered in your monthly/annual practice fee. Urgent appointments, emergency refills, and additional check-ins are included—no additional cost.

No Hidden Costs. Just Transparent, Predictable Care.

$100/month for physician care. Medication costs at your pharmacy are separate (typically $50-150/month with insurance or discount). That's it.
